Team N.I.B FC steal the headlines in the final.

The 5th annual Gordon Johnson touch rugby tournament was hosted at Dingle last weekend. Bigger than ever before, we were lucky with the weather again this year, as only a brief gust of wind threatened to push the frail Colts team over.

Plenty of teams were organised by the various captains and vice captains, with Team Bohr in nice luminous green vests. Whilst they didn't win on the day, they definitely had the nicest jerseys.

Food on the day was organised by Stu Rose (Convivio, Cotham Hill - would recommend), the tournament itself was organised by Ian and the 5* pictures taken by Graham Rowden.

The tense group stages led to the Colts vs Team Rogers, which was won narrowly by the Colts. On the other pitch, NIB FC played Team Athlete, which in the intense heat was won by NIB FC. The final was reminiscent of the Obi Wan/ Anakin fight (The Colts being Anakin), where Boxall in particular gave it everything, however, luckily it was touch rugby and he couldn't bosh any of NIB FC and they used the high ground to their advantage to take the title.

The money raised is going to the Teenage Cancer Trust - this year it was decided that the money would go to a charity of Joe Batley's choice. This year Bats beat cancer, and wanted to contribute something back.

Thank you to everyone who came and played, who came and supported, helped with the food, gave their gazebos etc. without your help the brilliant things throughout the year such as this, aren't possible.
