Concussion 1 of 2

1. Concussion Summary

The club's Concussion reporting must be done through the RugbySafe Officer via email - Rugbysafe@sbobrfc.co.uk.

The RugbySafe OfficerMUST be contacted in ALL cases of concussion or suspected concussion on the day of the incident.

There is a compulsory graduated return to play protocol that must be followed. Details are available on the RFU website but Ray will send the coaches and the parent or player the relevant details when he is notified of a concussion incident. Each Head Coach is responsible for ensuring the protocols are followed and the RugbySafe Officer will track the return to play.

St Brendan's RFC is committed to following the RFU Policy Mandate on Concussion. This is for player safety. This is MANDATED by World Rugby and the RFU. No deviation is acceptable.

Please also note that we need to report any concussions for any players that also occur outside of the club so these are recorded to ensure the club is aware and the process for return to play are managed effectively
