This group started last season as a bunch of very enthusiastic lads who were a little lacking in numbers and organisation on the pitch. After completing one year of contact rugby, like most U10 groups, were excelling in enthusiasm and effort but lacked playing as a team. Tim Potter, Milo McGrath and myself worked hard on team work as well as individual competence and confidence. Their performance improved and in the final tournament of the season they came second in their group. Remaining undefeated in 4 games against Thornbury that season, quite an achievement! The U11 age group
introduced more players in the scrum and the first element of kicking, which, while presenting additional challenges, provides a further opportunity for the players to make the greatest use of their talents. The team will continue to develop their team work and support skills. The highlight of this season being a probable 2 day festival in Cornwall in April, a great opportunity for team bonding for players, coaches and parents a like.
Here’s to a great season, see you on Sunday mornings. JK |
