Home to a determined Chew Valley
A very enjoyable spectacle for the strong supporting crowd played in a good spirit. Clew certainly enjoyed their visit to us even though they narrowly lost
After a slow start when we quickly conceded two tries, we worked out that we needed to bolster our defence in mid field if we were to stop their powerful centres in their tracks who were their principal attacking weapon.
We slowly settled and by the middle of the first half, we started to play our natural game putting width on the ball which resulted in us stretching their defence to breaking point on several occasions
At the end of the day we won by scoring one more try than Chew which was a fair refection of a close and well fought game which we just edged.
The high point was the running line which Al took to score his spectacular try from his own half. Low point was the smug look on this father’s face!
